Fang Hu is the Progressive Canadian candidate to be the Member of Parliament for the Montreal area riding of Dorval-Lachine-LaSalle.  Fang Hu previously sought the PC Party candidacy in the 2019 Outrement By-Election and in 2015 he was the unsuccessful Brossard-St. Lambert candidate for the federal Green Party led by Elizabeth May.

Fang Hu is a Professional Engineer and single father of two children with twenty-years experience in civil and construction engineering and management. His particular strength in his field is based on expertise in structural engineering.   Fang Hu offers a dynamic, results-oriented style, and  interpersonal teamwork skills which will serve him well as a member of a Progressive Canadian caucus and as a Member of Parliament.

He is fluent in English and Chinese and communicates well in French, have contributed to the progress of Canadians.

Fang Hu’s professional accreditation in Canada includes membership in the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec, as a  APEGA, P. Eng. member and P. Eng.  APEGAS and P. Eng.   Association of Professional Engineers of BC and Nova Scotia (APENS).

Fang Hu earned a Bachelor of Engineering, (structural /civil ) at Tongji University, China, and Canadian University Equivalent: Bachelor Engineering according to the Ministère des Relations avec les Citoyens et de l'Immigration, Quebec, Canada, and took courses in Engineering economics at Concordia  University, Quebec, Canada.

Fang Hu’s professional career has been diverse.

The PC Party and former Green Party candidate was a senior civil structural engineer on industrial projects of pipeline construction, in particular design supports for pipes, equipment and cable trays. This drew upon his understanding of  metals, mining-refinery structures and foundations, construction engineering methods, structural inspection and restoration.

Fang Hu has worked for the Ministry of  Transpor , Government of Quebec projects, including highway bridge structural repair, construction site management and quality control assistance. 

Interestingly, the former Green Party candidate has worked as a Civil / Structural Engineer, SNC-LAVALIN INC., Calgary , Alberta, for Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Arabia) Project and as a Junior Engineer, Structures, Transportation and Public Works, General Engineering and Environment Quebec, SNC-LAVALIN INC, Montreal,  Quebec

In the 1990s he worked as a Construction Engineer and project management consultant./Site Engineer for SHANGHAI CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION, BUTLER  INC. & BOVIS PROJECT CONSULTING, Shanghai,  China. - "1998 International Project Award" sponsored by the British companies and supported by the British government.
